My kid has a red scarlet fever like rash but no strept or any other symptoms.?

My daughter has a rash that looks just like scarlet fever and we went to the doctor and they told us that was what was wrong. The thing is with scarlet fever you are suppose to have strept and a very high fever,.. she only feels a tad warm, the rash may or may not itch, normally starts in the throat. All she has is the rash. Has any one else had similiar symptoms on a child. She is only 20 months. THe rash is rapidly getting redder and spreading. It's not chicken pox.
