Why do people*both genders* flip out when someone asks abut guys wearing skirts?

Whats the deal..as long as everythng is covered whats the stink. and im not talking about a "kilt" m talking abou a real live Skirt worn by a guy. I tried it once...and my ex gf flipped. i thought it was humorous... just dont get it...ladies or guys answer, thanks.
