I have a mental illness, how to tell people?

Schizophrenia is one of the mental illnesses that there is a lot of prejudice against. I personally would only tell people you absolutely trusted and find some other disorder to tell everyone else.... Like tell them you're diabetic and get upset when you have low blood sugar.
